Thesis Review

Check out the video and see what Thesis can do for you, thanks to Nick Reese of Artofblog.com

The Thesis Theme for WordPress is a high-quality template system that you can use to improve your site immediately. There are many advantages of using Thesis theme that free themes and other premium themes do not offer.

Design. Right out the box, Thesis is a beautifully laid out theme. It’s modern, simple and has just the right balance of white space. What I really like about Thesis is the typography and visual clarity of the theme. I have used a lot of themes before I switched over to Thesis. From free themes to premium themes, they are always lacking in visual clarity. You may not know, but typography is the primary vehicle for the most important thing on your site—your content!

Design Flexibility. Thesis is by far the most flexible Wordpress theme I’ve ever come across. While simple design options such as a change of color on sidebars are widely available, what really set Thesis apart is the option to change the number of columns (1 column, 2 column, or 3 column layout) as well as their widths in the Design Options panel with just a few clicks (no programming necessary) – and each configuration still retains that professional look. You can also change the fonts, font sizes, background and navigation menus colors just as easily.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO). One of the biggest selling points of Thesis is that it’s developed with SEO in mind. When it comes to SEO, how your theme is laid out affects how search engines see your site. I use to run a site with crazy code bloat due to constant tweaking on the HTML + CSS + PHP framework. With Thesis, the days of worrying about my in-site SEO are over—with Thesis, my strategy is “just add killer content.”

Support. Thesis comes with an awesome support. I checked out the forum. The Thesis community have been answering all the questions they have been asked and have gone out of their way to really help people customize their sites. You simply won’t get this with free themes, or even some premium themes out there.

Future Updates. This is one of my favorite. With a one time payment, all Thesis future updates are free. I’m not talking about fixing bugs and the likes. I’m talking about major changes, such as adding the functions of changing the color of background, navigation menus and etc. It was only recently that these functions are introduced to Thesis 1.6. Thesis 1.5 does not have these functions. Chris, the developer of Thesis also promised for future upgrades of the theme, for free.

Thesis is by far the best theme I have used. Ever since I switched over to Thesis, I no longer need to worry about my in-site SEO. The only disadvantage of Thesis is perhaps the pricing of the theme. Considering that there are free themes to choose from, unless you are serious about making money from your blog, it’s best to stick with free themes.

Thesis offers several pricing to choose from. Learn more.
