How To Install Wordpress – Complete Guide

Before you install Wordpress, you should have:

1. A domain name. If you haven’t, you can get it at Godaddy.
2. A hosting account. If you haven’t, you can get one at Hostgator.
3. Changed your nameservers in your Godaddy account for your domain. If you haven’t, please refer to How To Change Your Nameservers For Your Domain.

Installing Wordpress

To install Wordpress, simply follow these easy steps.

1. Open your internet browser and type in “www.yourdomainname.com/cpanel“
2. Enter your username and password which is provided by Hostgator in the email sent, upon your confirmation of hosting service.
3. In Control Panel, Scroll down the page to subheadings, “Software/Services“
4. Click on “Fantastico De Luxe“
5. Select “Wordpress” from the list on the left.
6. Select “New Installation“
7. Select the domain you want to install the Wordpress on
8. Select a username and password for Wordpress.
9. Click ‘Install’
10. Click ‘Finish Installation’

And you’re done. Your Wordpress login (from where you will create and manage your posts, pages and themes) will
be in your internet browser:

www.yourdomainname.com/wp-admin
