How To Install Themes – With Screenshots
Once you have your Wordpress theme of choice downloaded to your computer, in order to use it, you would need to upload it to host server.
First things first. To upload any file to your host server, you need to have FTP program. I use Filezilla in this case. It is a highly recommended and easy to use software. You can download it here, for free.
Once you have the program installed, we can begin the upload process.
Step 1
Open your filezilla. It should look something like this. You then need to insert your domain address, username and password, follow by clicking the “quickconnect” button. In case you are wondering:
- Host: www.yourdomainname.com
- Username: Same as your login username in Cpanel
- Password: Same as your login password in Cpanel
Step 2
Once you accessed your server, on your right, find and double click “public_html”.
Step 3
Once you accessed public_html, on your right, find and double click “wp-content”.
Step 4
Once you get into wp-content, on your right, find and double click “themes”.
Step 5
Once you accessed “themes”, locate your Wordpress theme folder on the left. In my case, I have my Thesis folder prepared beforehand. Once you located your chosen Wordpress theme, right click the folder and click “upload”.

And you’re done! To use your theme, on your Wordpress admin, simply go to “appearance”. If you done the steps correctly, it should appear there. Make sure to activate it.
